The Present Parent Program helps ambitious parents be the best version of themselves at home and at work

Supporting and investing in parents unlocks their health, engagement, loyalty, productivity and potential.

Reduce churn and attract top talent by enhancing your Employee Value Proposition and Diversity, Equality, Inclusion and Social Impact agendas.

What is The Present Parent Program?
A human-centered coaching program for high-ambition working parents (or soon-to-be!) who are passionate about being the best version of themselves.

What big problems does it solve?

Our home lives impact our work and vice versa.

For parents with worries about their children, the impact is often 10X.

The lack of value placed upon, and stigma around, talking about parenting, and the lack of support for parents this creates, often leaves them feeling unsupported and overwhelmed.

This translates to both productivity and potential left on the table in the workplace and, at its worse, talent leaving your organisation and the perpetuation of gender bias
.

By helping parents to feel successful and present at home and at work, there is a huge opportunity to differentiate your business to retain and attract talent whilst also unlocking the productivity and potential of an under-supported employee segment facing very real practical and mental challenges.

Not to mention having a positive impact on future generations!

Catalyst - The Great Work/Life Divide in the United States:

"The Covid-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on employees, so much so that 50% of employees intend to make career changes as a result.

Working parents are particularly likely to want to make a career change, including exiting their jobs.

6
4% of parents with children ages 3-17 intend to make career changes due to Covid-19 (vs. just 40% of those who are not parents )"
The Problem

The Problem: Our home lives impact our work, and vice versa

For most, we are uniquely unprepared for parenthood – stigma around discussing the challenges, especially in workplaces, means there is little to inform us before the little one(s) arrive, and not enough support in place once they do.

The challenges of balancing work and parenting can create a downward spiral of overwhelm, guilt, regret and isolation affecting mental health and leaving productivity and potential on the table at work, and impacting our parenting at home.

Deeply ingrained biases mean the motherhood penalty remains, with 85% of mothers leaving the full time workforce within 3 years of having children.

Fathers wrestle with how they feel about taking extended paternity leave and other action that help create gender balance but feel contrary to the traditional role of a "man".

The time to step up to this challenge is now.

Post covid flexible working has created a huge change in the nature of work and employee expectations

Whilst parents have necessarily embraced flexibility, the borderless environment this creates has also increased levels of overwhelm and guilt, along with giving many pause to reassess their priorities and work/life balance.

This has led to the “Great Resignation”, or for parents "Great Realisation".

Bright Horizons - A Great Realization - Parents are Overworked and Leaving Jobs that don’t Support Them:

"The pandemic created a period of upheaval for working parents, but it has also provided a moment of introspection, enabling them to take stock of what matters most and driving a “Great Realisation” to make dramatic career moves that align work with personal priorities. As a result, working parents are taking action to change the workplace."

During the pandemic parents have experienced a new way of working…anD parenting

Whilst parents found the combined pressures of lockdown, childcare and remote working difficult (McKinsey reported 2 x likelihood of burnout for parents vs non-parents), it has enabled many to experience greater flexibility and more precious time with their families.

parents are more likely to leave if they feel undervalued or unsupported

Studies indicate 40 – 60% of parents are considering changing jobs, 1.5 – 2 times more than non-parents.

Some are even looking despite saying they are are happy where they are!

Parents are reassessing what is important

Parents often talk about overwhelm, guilt and regret when trying to balance work and family life.

Many want a different balance going forward, and expect employers to support them in this whilst maintaining career aspirations.

How does the Present Parent Program help?

The practical support that employers can put in place like flexible working and assistance with childcare help parents to set themselves up for success and feel valued.

However, even where support is given, powerful behaviours and mindsets developed as ambitious individuals, still leave parents feeling overwhelmed, guilty and facing regrets as they struggle to balance conflicting priorities and concerns about career, personal identity and being present and “successful” as a parent.

The Present Parent Program takes a whole human-centred approach to coaching parents through a framework designed specifically to deal with the feelings of overwhelm, guilt, regret and isolation that many experience.

This translates into presence and increased productivity, engagement & confidence at work, and improves the quality of our time with our families.

This unlocks longer-term potential as working parents are equipped to find a path that allows them to be the best version of themselves at home and at work.

Hi, I'm Ranjit

Head Coach and Founder

My mission ….

“ Parenting, and the process of, does not have enough value placed on them by society.  …. It’s not a part of our education system, and there is stigma, especially in a work environment, around having meaningful conversations about our experiences and aspirations, all reinforced by awful gender biases.

This means the challenges parenting can bring aren’t visible, discussed or supported enough.

The truth is, our home lives directly impact our work and performance, and vice versa.  When challenges relate to our children, for most the impact is x 10.

The Present Parent Program solves this by enabling parents to understand what kind of parent they want to be, and intentionally integrate this with their career aspirations and day-to-day priorities"
